I am currently working at SAS as a Senior Associate Software Developer.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai in 2019.

Why I became a Software Engineer?

I would consider my introduction to programming through MSW Logo – something about making different shapes by typing a few commands had blown me away as a child. It was not until 9th grade, when I was introduced to Java, that I truly started enjoying writing code.

I still remember the day when I made the decision to pursue Software Engineering: My friends and I were given a problem to write code for booking train tickets where we could check ticket availability, book a ticket or exit the program. This was the first time I got a sense of solving a real-world problem. The solution was a simple switch statement but it cemented my decision of the career path I wanted to take. Despite a lot of resistance and cajoling from relatives, I stuck with it. Now, I solve real-world problems by writing meaningful software – experiencing the same excitement from 9th grade.
